Abstract:

A novel power system for distributed loads (PSDL)with modular three-port converters (TPC) and its power management were proposed for spacecraft in this paper. The PSDL was composed of several TPC modules, interfacing energy source, energy storage element (ESE) and distributed loads, with the input and bidirectional ports connected in parallel, respectively. Considering that the output loads are distributed and there are three power paths in each TPC, it's difficult to determine the power transferred on each path of the PSDL. To achieve accurate power distribution of the multiple ports, a system level hybrid power control was proposed, i.e., current-sharing control when the ESE charges and power control based on requirements of loads when the ESE discharges. With the proposed control, the PSDL can achieve stable operations under different working states and smooth switching between them. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed system structure and hybrid power control.
