Abstract:

As for the problems of unbalanced 3-phase no-load currents and stator core loss caused by screw holes on the yoke, the influence of screw holes of the yoke on the balance of 3-phase no-load currents is presented in the paper and the relationship between screw holes and the core loss is analyzed. Theoretical analysis and finite element simulation both show that the existence of screw holes on the yoke causes a magnetic saturation, the magnetic saturation significantly increases in the three-phase current imbalance and causes a rise in stator core loss. In order to reduce the impact of the yoke screw holes on the motor’s performance, a motor structure with 3 screw holes on the yoke is presented. Simulation and experimental results show that the three screw holes motor structure can solve the current imbalance, and the core loss values are more reasonable.
