Study of Rotor Angle Stability of Heilongjiang Power Grid by HVDC Power Modulation

Abstract:

When fault occurs in AC channel which sent electric power from Heilongjiang to Jilin and Liaoning, the unbalance of power and the increase of transfer impedance will bring a great challenge to the rotor angle stability of the Heilongjiang grid. HVDC modulation has been considered to improve the rotor angle transient stability. The Prony method is used to tune the DC power modulator, and the influence of the variation of modulation gain on the stability of the system is also discussed. The study results are expected to be helpful for the operation of Heilongjiang power grid.
