Abstract:

In order to analyze the relationship between the flashover along the barrier surface and the AC withstand voltage characteristics of the gas-solid hybrid insulation system, the equivalent breakdown path and the average electric field strength are analyzed by combining the AC withstand experiment and finite element simulation. It is found that the breakdown voltage of gas-solid hybrid insulation gap cannot be directly calculated through the typical breakdown path. Before gap breakdown, the average electric field strength along the surface path is different when the barriers are in different positions, but the average electric field strength of the barriers with different sizes is almost the same. The results show that when the breakdown voltage of a fixed size barrier at a given position is known, the breakdown characteristics of other size barriers at the same position can be predicted.
