Review of SOC Estimation Methods for Power Battery Based on Equivalent Circuit Model

Abstract:

:Accurate modeling and estimation of state of charge (SOC) of power battery are of great significance for improving the utilization efficiency of battery and prolonging its service life. Among all kinds of SOC estimation methods, the one based on the battery equivalent circuit model has good accuracy and robustness, and the battery model has simple structure and small calculation amount. Therefore, its application prospect in the battery management system (BMS) is bright. Focusing on the SOC estimation methods based on the equivalent circuit model, the common battery equivalent circuit models at home and abroad are summarized, and then the existed SOC estimation methods are compared. The factors affecting the estimation accuracy of SOC and the countermeasures are also analyzed in detail. Finally, the research trend of SOC estimation in the future is discussed and prospected.
