Abstract:

For ropeless elevator propulsion, a modular thin yoke linear flux-switching permanent magnet (MTYLFSPM) machine is proposed and its drive control system is built. The proposed machine is double-sided structure. The short primary mover consists of permanent magnets and armature windings, which can be installed in elevator car. The secondary stators are made of iron core and can be distributed along the hoist way. Hence, this MTYLFSPM machine possesses merits, such as simple and robust structure, low cost and high thrust force density. The structure, operation principle and the effects of pole pitch ratio are illustrated. Then, based on Simulink, the accurate machine model and drive control system are built for elevator operation simulation. Finally, a MTYLFSPM prototype is manufactured. The machine parameters are measured and elevator operation experiment is performed. The experimental results agree with the simulation results, validating the performance analysis and the feasibility of the MTYLFSPM machine system.
