Abstract:

In this paper a DC-DC power converter topology is presented based on quasi-Z-source concept. In order to overcome the limitations and problems of the conventional DC-DC power converters, two IGBT modules or power MOSFETs are face-to-face connected to constitute bidirectional power switches, which can transmit bidirectional power flow in a single topology by PWM control. The proposed circuit topology contains all the benefits of the existing quasi-Z-source-based power converters, such as buck/boost voltage, increase efficiency and reduce cost, etc, and its operating principle and voltage gain are introduced and analyzed in detail. The simulation and the experiments based on the prototype are performed. Besides, the simulation and experimental results verify the rationality and superiority of the circuit topology and they are shown in good agreement with the theoretical analysis.
