Abstract:

Electric spring (ES), which has received attention in recent years, is an emerging power quality adjustment method that can effectively solve the power quality problem such as grid voltage fluctuations caused by grid connection of renewable energy. The existing electric spring topologies are first summarized and then an LCL-ES based on the LCL filter is proposed. Unlike the existing topology in which non-critical load and ES are connected in series, LCL-ES uses non-critical load as a passive damper for the LCL filter, which converts the disadvantage of the large power loss into the advantage of larger power range. Then, the phasor diagram method is used to analyze the voltage regulation performance of the LCL-ES, and then the grid-side voltage fluctuation range is obtained. Finally, the effectiveness of the LCL-ES for voltage stabilization and its steady-state operating range are verified through simulation and experimental results.
