Research on Dynamic Voltage Restorer of Microgrid Based on Hybrid Energy Storage

Abstract:

To solve the voltage sag problem of microgrid, a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) system based on hybrid storage of battery and super capacitor is studied. A hybrid energy storage DVR topology is designed to increase energy storage capacity and extend battery life, and the operation mode which can improve the utilization of DVR equipment is proposed. Different operation control strategies are adopted for the DVR when the grid voltage sag occurs and the grid voltage is normal. When the grid voltage is interrupted, the DVR can also operate the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) function to power the load. Finally, the effectiveness of the DVR system is verified by simulation using the Matlab/Simulink.
