Abstract:

In order to ensure the expected conditions of using and long-term stability of the high voltage cable, a type test of the high voltage DC cable is required. Through the analysis of the content of cross-linking by-products from the inner layer to the outer layer and the current density at different temperatures as a function of the electric field strength of the main insulation of the cable before and after the type test. The experimental results show that the type test suppresses the carrier mobility of low field strength and promotes the migration of cross-linking by-products from the inner layer to the middle layer and the outer layer, the more the cross-linking by-product content and the higher the temperature, the lower the threshold electric field of the current density.
