Abstract:

Because of its inherent defects, traditional water and thermal frequency regulation units are difficult to overcome the problem of insufficient frequency regulation capacity of power grid caused by large-scale grid-connected intermittent new energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaics, and energy storage has a natural advantage in frequency regulation due to its rapid response characteristics. The frequency regulation effect can be improved by introducing energy storage into power grid frequency regulation. Therefore, the control strategy of energy storage participating in grid auxiliary frequency regulation is studied. Firstly, an equivalent model of energy storage and regional power grid frequency regulation with energy storage is established; Then, based on the model, the state of charge (SOC) of energy storage is taken into account, and the frequency deviation of the power grid and the SOC of energy storage are partitioned, a coordinated control strategy for energy storage and traditional frequency regulation units participating in grid frequency regulation is proposed; Finally, a simulation model is built to verify the proposed control strategy, the simulation results show that the proposed control strategy can effectively improve the frequency regulation characteristics of the power grid.
