Abstract:

Traction converter is the core components of electric locomotive traction drive system and it’s one of the main harmonic source. The single-phase four-quadrant rectifier of traction converter outputs with a second pulsation, DC link voltage which contains ripple get into control link, a given modulation wave obtained by calculating contains a low-order harmonics, so as the current wave of the rectifier AC side. By using the notch filter to filter the second pulsation, the grid-side harmonics can be reduced effectivery. And in the "Belt and Road" policies, to achieve railway interconnection between countries, the converter is needed to optimize for different power supply frequency, and the converter is needed to redesign to reduce the harmonics. In this paper, how the second pulsation effects the grid-side current harmonic and how the traditional notch filter works are analysised, and a dynamic notch filter is proposed with a feed-forward, according to the traction power supply grid, it can quickly adjust the frequency, and its feasibility is shown through Matlab simulation and dSPACE experiment results.
