Research on Novel Bridgeless DCM Pseudo-Boost PFC Converter

Abstract:

A bridgeless Pseudo-Boost power factor correction (PFC) converter is studied in the paper, which solves the problem of diode rectifier bridge great conducting loss and low efficiency in traditional Boost PFC converter. The principle and steady-state character of the converter in discontinuous current mode is analyzed. The voltage transfer ratio of the converter is similar to the traditional Boost PFC. AC input current and power factor value is analyzed. Based on the input and output current, the small signal model of the converter is built and the feasible control circuit is designed. Finally, the simulation analysis display that the output voltage is steady, input current can keep track of the input voltage waveforms well, the power factor is more than 0.99 and achieve the function of PFC.
